| Swimming Pool Filtration faq`s |
| |
What methods of filtration
are available?
Typically domestic swimming pools are filtered by way
of a "hi rate sand" filter system. This consists
of a pressure vessel in to which silica sand is placed.
The dirty pool water is then passed through the bed of
sand and the dirt and debris removed with the filtered
water passing back to the pool. Cartridge filters are
also sometimes used, although they are more commonly found
on pools of a very small capacity or on spa and hot tub
filtation systems. Does one size of filter
system cater for all pool capacities?
No. The filter and its pump have to be selected carefully
to ensure the correct flow velocities through the filter,
so as to ensure adequate filtation. |
