Do you need planning?

Only if you have a listed building, are in an area of outstanding beauty, conservation area, the pool will take up more than 50% of your garden, is nearer than 5 metres to your property or within the curtilage of your property. If you are in doubt, check with your local planning department.

How much does an outside pool cost to run?

Depending on size, £400 - £800 per annum.

Do we have to use chlorine?

No, there are other forms of sanitising a pool available. Please call for details.

How do you heat a pool?

There are gas, oil and electric heaters, heat pumps, heat exchangers and solar heating.

How much does an outside pool cost?

Depending on size and construction, from £20K - £60K.

What are the choices in respect to construction?

Liner, one piece, concrete.

How much time does it take to look after a pool?

With an automatic cleaner, only 15 – 30 minutes a week.

What do you do with the pool in winter?

Either have it fully winterised by a company such as ourselves or have a frost stat fitted when it is then possible to winterise the pool yourself or again to have a company such as ourselves winterise it for you. Please call our Service department for further details.

I have a young family so am worried about safety.

Safety covers are available. Also safety fencing and nets.

What access is required for machinery?

6 ft would be good but 3 ft would still be possible.

How long does a pool take to install?

Depending on May aspects but on average 3 – 6 weeks for a liner pool and 6 – 12 weeks for concrete.

Can I use my domestic boiler to heat the pool?

Yes, through a Heat Exchanger providing your domestic boiler has the available capacity.

 
How many months am I able to swim?
 
Anything between April and October depending on weather but most fair-weather swimmers utilise the pool between May and September.
 
 
Someone in the family is allergic to Chlorine – is there an alternative?
 
Yes, there are a number of alternatives in today’s market – Bromine, Ozone, Salt and Active Oxygen to mention a few.
 
Are we a member of SPATA (The Swimming Pool and Allied Trades Association)?
 
Yes, we are and have many awards to our name including Retailer of the Year, The Peter Geekie Award for Excellence and a number of Awards for pool installations.
